luminaire 4 and what it does so no mana

second generation of this software

know we’ve ever done I mean I know you

can’t done that do that in Lightroom but

if you ever try to do that in Photoshop

there’s a lot of masking you know that

right even though they have tools for

the help you out but used to have it you

know get your hands dirty kind of select

area or you know can fine-tune it but in

this software they literally do it for

you automatically you don’t have to

think about it just put choose which

skies to blade to replace whoops that’s

it okay so that’s number one number two

they have the AI portrait we touch to

product that one is the skin also the

default was skin they will actually help

you terribly move them I don’t know the

rebel ISM but uh it just soku they could

find it by themselves it’s just amazing

right absolutely so no more touching and

burning or you know healing tool or you

know coming to us and then they also can

help you adjust the portrait such as

like enhance the eyes bigger smaller

face lemurs dark circles under the eyes

I mean you sir

I bet you because YouTube went up a lot

of people so how do we move that circle

in the eye

well tell you get this software you know

how to learn basically it’s just one

slider left and right that’s it

in secondly one really cool thing that

nobody really talks about which

eventually ethnic David will help me

make a video and we will do something

really cool about is the preset and

action in luminol they call it the

luminol look now what’s so good about

that us yeah it’s in another like saved

actions or save process but the cool

thing is while all the other softwares

actions and preset it’s set numbers

meaning that if your sky exposure is

fifty and your action is twenty they’re

always a by twenty and at the end up

seventy so sometime if your sky is not

fifty it’s a 180 and you a twenty hood

you get over now the cool thing about

the luminaires low is that it used a I

calculation so

based on every time you apply that new

look on different pictures yeah it will

help you calculate how much exposure do

you need rather apply on a set number

yeah this is I don’t think there’s any

other software done this before so this

is cool thing about it yeah totally yeah

I mean all that Jeremy says is

absolutely true and we love it because

this software really just elevates your

photography to next level whether you’re

someone that’s starting out as amateur

shooting pictures on your smartphone you

can throw it in this software and it

takes your picture to the next level or

you’re a seasoned professional like

Jeremy and I when we shoot weddings and

engagement sessions we can put all of

our pictures in the software where we

can replace the sky change the details

of the structures without having to

worry about the masking the people right

or changing the face element all that

happens automatically with just some

sliders because it’s the software that

softball picks out the eyes or lips and

it allows you to make adjustment without

you having to mask everything and if you

know anything about photoshop and

masking it just it’s tedious because you

have to deal with a layer and you have

to deal with a black and white to

determine the mass and unmask area it’s

just not intuitive whereas this software

makes it extremely intuitive and you can

do basic things like here that’s like

when we move people we just kind of like

an eraser tool and then once the erases

is just amazing so luminar four can do

so much whether you’re a mature

just rooting on your smartphone or

whether you’re a seasoned professional

there’s a lot of benefit that it can

take your photography to the next level

works as a standalone

this this is one of the most common and

most known feature of Lumira four and

it’s one of the hardest skill to do when

it comes to post-processing when we pay

this guy and they just make it so simple

yeah they really they make it look so

amazing so basically you put a picture

in and it can detect the sky from

everything else and you just replace

that component so simple so quick that

video is so fast you like I mean there’s

really not much to show that’s my videos

so quick because I know notice the sky

and you literally just select what sky

you want because you don’t even need to

pick your sky it just it does it for you

I know like I think when I first part

with Newman are the ass making you do

something Tori oh well you know the sky

way placement say let me play around a

bit huh what is that the show it’s what

I think right exactly

exactly yeah and you know but sky

replacement isn’t the only thing it can

also make skin correction really well

too right it analyzes the face structure

of all your people and with just a

slider look at that you just slide it

and they’ll pick up the defects and

they’ll just and accordingly it’ll pick

up the eyes I’ll pick up the the mouth

it can whiten teeth change the smile

teach the eyebrows or the redness and I

it does everything it removes the

effects dark circles here lip redness

just sliding stuff right

there’s the coolest part is you don’t

need to spend time to mass thing or tell

the software this is the eye this is the

lips right it knows where it is if that

even knows the people from the structure

and that’s the a

and that’s what’s so great about this

software right we’ve been having a lot

of software over the years as computers

and hence photographers ability to edit

photos I mean it’s been happening for

have been a Photoshop and

post-processing educator for couple

and getting because they are intimidated

about post-processing they feel like

it’s not for them it’s hard they know

where to start

it’s all duty to affect that oh hey we

yeah as I was saying yeah so up till I

met with Scotland which is new mana for

company and you know that plenty with

the software and I think I talking to

all my students I realized one thing

what Adobe did with the Photoshop

basically is to intimidate it to

[ __ ] yeah I mean it is a leading

software in this industry but to a lot

of people they just got into the game

it’s just like I don’t know how to do

this you know this is so confusing and

then they got the Lightroom

yes it’s dumbed down by the same time

they take away a lot of things right

layer is not there a lot of features

filters in Photoshop is not there so you

only do so much which in my book if you

are a software for a photography

industry or creative industry and you

take away all that and limited your

users to only certain amount of

functions you’re not reading giving me a

football and what doom enough for did we

actually call it AI yeah yes it is aah

but what it does if we look at the skin

we touching apart okay now how the heck

today we take the skins texture because

they actually have all that photoshop

functions such as sequences sequences

separations and the high pass or that

it’s all in the background of it they’re

not giving you the function on it

because you don’t need to know it but

they put it into the portrait enhancer

so that you could able use those

functions but you don’t have to learn it

because all you have to learn is okay do

I want I’ll be more white do all do I

want to remove the dark circle or how

house who or I want my skin is that’s

what you need to do so they take away

all the hardships and give you all the

function unlike what live will be

basically they took away and never get

back to you so this is cool thing about

luminol for yeah and every day Jeremy

says makes it’s all true but there’s one

thing on top of that that takes it to

another level and that you can apply all

that in one photo right and it saves all

that as a look now once you have that

look you can apply it in batch to other

pictures in that same folder and it will

the software would use a I to go back in

the picture and make your enhancement on

top of the pictures but based on AI

technology in other words it’s not going

to use like presets and re-edit the

pictures based on a previous preset it

will actually go in there and use all

the AI knowledge to read

analyze all the pictures individually

but adjust them towards your taste that

you define for the first portrait and

you save as a look so imagine that yeah

exactly

so imagine you can use all the powerful

features to make one photo like you see

in the screen before and after right and

that only takes a few minutes but if you

have a thousand pictures from a wedding

event or engagement session well that’s

a thousand minutes and that adds up a

lot right but you can do it one time and

apply it as a batch to all your other

pictures and that’s just mind-blowing

times – right what drew me says and now

you can batch it it’s like so yeah we’re

definitely going to show you a

demonstration of that I think I think

skin enhancement we do that yeah we can

yeah the slider will tell you how much

more and the cool thing is the slider is

very tame in that if you go to a hundred

percent it might look a little bit over

at the top but if you go back to like

ninety percent it is all you need for a

really good tasteful edit and it’s

sometimes we’re editing it’s easy to

like make someone look too perfect and

then you start looking misaki but at a

hundred percent they’re just I think the

the cusp of being non realistic that you

style the back just a tad and you’re

good so very easy one checkmark one

slider for all the functionalities that

you need for defect that’s all I do

right ai technology takes care of

everything and I think yeah and also

like this feature too right this is new

in a four point two they just added this

right Derbyshire mobile yeah

that only really apply be using like

against

and flash that you know have those shine

it help you kind of even it out I don’t

use that much because I do a lot of that

you’re like well but you do natural

light but except when you’re endorsed

you have no choice again it’s a

reception hall yeah or night and you

have to use a soft box or whatever

lights or you yeah you you not whatever

your light source to use indoor you’re

gonna have shiny skin and if you’re some

radius strong affection either way yes

yeah so check this out this is the

system before and after a bit look at

there is and then right after it you

just cleared away even in a dark area

you see it took care of it moving

yellows in the video no I’m moving it oh

okay yes so there’s actually two things

it does right if you listen to the phase

two yes it’s slim the face like if you

look at the before and after it’s pretty

dramatic but if you only have two after

you look at it you’re like wow that’s

really beautiful so again it it lets you

do it very tastefully it won’t let you

do it over the edge so don’t worry you

can play around with it and control it

with sliders and look at the results

they’ve done a lot with the eyes too

they bright to know that we booked the

dark circle mm-hmm I think they also did

the skin the yeah the skin with touching

as well too so it has everything in it

yeah but ultimately they we put a shine

and slim the face that’s for sure yeah

and they did good job I mean this model

looks great but after you apply these

effect now she’s covered magazine ready

right this is perfect and again you can

do this in one picture save it as a look

and apply it to the rest of the pictures

in that folder and it’ll take care of

the rest of pictures so you can spend

time to perfect one and that time to

perfect one it’s the only a few minutes

because again you’re just dealing with

sliders yeah that’s the cool thing about

this and I’m gonna even use my pen

anymore just keep using my mouse yeah

Wow here’s another one this is a

Wow this is just one do lighting okay so

here this is this is a great example so

you know this is this this effect then

being falling after gets how much time

you spent to get this result

two minutes exactly and look at the

tools they use they use five tools a I

skin enhancer which we talked about they

use the face light which we haven’t

talked about but that’s pretty

self-explanatory right yeah it you just

it knows where the face is so but by

sliding a slide your coffee face light

it will brighten or darken the face

no reason it’s always brighten oh yeah

docking there’s no darken no there’s no

action bird dr. burns talking but this

is Facebook we just yeah face like and

then there’s dark circle removal so like

if you look under her eyes oh my god

that is a big deal like it just makes

her look so brighten up after this this

dark circle removal right and then you

get the eye enhancer so you see the

extra catch light they added to her eyes

and also the whites in your eyes are

more vibrant or more white right yeah so

that’s the I Hanser oh and I forgot the

lips we need me look at the lips yeah so

the the before the situation yes

and then after lips just more liveliness

more pop so it’s funny that Calvin

actually asked about porch enhancement

because recently looming our website

just got real face lifted no pun

intended right but they you know they

redesigned their website to fort to

focus more on portrait enhancements

because I remember this stuff used to be

buried at the bottom they used to focus

a lot on sky replacement but now they

realize that there’s so much more to

luminar to show off and that the porch

enhancement is something that a lot of

professionals look and used to so again

this one fifty seconds and again using

the same things that we talked about

skin replace you know that thing is not

well because it’s it it depends how

experienced you with this software i

could do it in ten seconds out this is

this

five six sliders right you got the egg

enhancer face light dark circle my rule

there’s this one uses the teeth

whitening right we and there’s a

slimming the teeth whitening it’s nice

and then removal plumage again yeah

really quick the point is they want they

want to illustrate that it’s fast again

here another one and it works in all

different kind of situations the while

the dark circle removal oh my oh that

okay that’s actually kind of scary that

it can do that

and again you don’t need to mask

anything you just load up the picture

and you literally pick the slider and

you slide it in the mall that I have

nothing for the whole week I have this

last service don’t worry we’ll move that

so scary that our software can do that

now and of course it worse I’m male

model as well as female model this this

this this picture got all the features

apply to them

hey I skin enhancer enhancer I whitening

removal but remove blemishes face light

dark circle removal teeth whitening it’s

got the working this software what here

just this function it it works great for

um headshot photographers yeah cuz I

know a lot Chapel topper they basically

outsource their um retouching that’s

crazy

I would too if I don’t have the software

I literally would because like to get

this effect in Photoshop think about it

it’s not easy we’re saying it takes one

minute and we say oh yeah it’s quickly a

slightest that’s because you have

luminaire for and then I asked a friend

how much they pay per photo guess how

much 50 bucks yes

you know that it’s a good guess I told

you that before no oh yeah I mean you

you basically paid two of those you got

a software take you’re doing twenty

second already yeah

and fifty bus it’s just the raw cost of

it says okay this is a sky park and then

all you do is you pick what officer you

light will do it would relight the rest

of your scene to have a little orange so

that it flows with the sky it would

match those guys for sure yeah so

explain this really well these two are

the AI features right so how does it

work like what is the technology that

goes behind this like taking a picture

and how these two sliders work well try

um can you apply the AI a sense first

yep now turn it off yep okay now now you

see how this picture is taken directly

from the camera obviously once the one

exposure so if you want to retain the

sky that you mean your foreground we

can’t talk because it’s against the Sun

so if you turn on a is and now you see

how is whoops it basically we like the

darkened scene while the ski the sky had

control the sky and we light it seemed

down here and as my Fiat haze yep you

see how I got light in the sky yeah

change it and I also change the

temperature of the sky as well

mmm-hmm as well as exposure so you got

to wait to play around with this

basically you know don’t change the sky

at law or adjust the we light a scene to

adjust the foreground to match the sky

or do both it will make the whole thing

looks much more beautiful look at it

that way now yeah it’s like I will be

paying this guy always a capture like in

camera right yes that looks fantastic

and then one space of lumen are able to

detect where the sky is if you want to

play around with this for example I want

to add some burrs Oh what that’s so cool

totally believable like if you told me

that those birds were there I wait a

high percent believe you because that

looks so natural so probably we light it

a little bit among I tuned it down

believable right oh yeah that looks

really nice really well or if you want

to go something crazy that’s try Hmong

any kind of lighting to wheel it your

subject then you can able to get both

the subject and this guy you know in

right at my first wedding I couldn’t get

the first bridegroom walking down the

aisle because I was super busy shooting

on the side of the aisle then with

behind them and try to run around them

but they were too big so I couldn’t get

past them down the aisle so I missed a

shot what do you think you did worse

than that well I fall man my memory card

after the morning Oh out be dad that’s

not painful that but the good thing is

only one card I got the other five cards

still safe so yep yeah

and yeah memory card dude I always I

always want to err on the safe side I

don’t know if it’s safe or not but for

me I get to I always shoot with a camera

that has dual memory card

never will I shoot in a professional

event that has that with a camera that

has only one memory card because it’s

just suicide in my opinion so I shoot

with a camera that’s two memory cards I

make sure both memory cards are bigger

than I need like 256 gigabyte big so I

can shoot the whole day whether it’s a

wedding or like a super long event the

whole day I never need to change memory

card and I set it up so every time I

take one picture it writes to both

memory card so that’s my strategy I’m

being saved you know at one point I was

testing out some leaves new NEX cameras

yeah I actually carry three camera with

me Wow

so just gonna have five camera five

cameras not with me but I have to expect

cameras so I mean the dual memory cut

doesn’t mean nothing because I got free

camera you can have dual memory card

each of the three cameras but anyway

that’s a time for another discussion so

let’s take a minute Calvin’s got the

what time are you guys planning to

question Jeremy what time are you gonna

wake up you want to do it in the morning

two camera and keep one in the car so I

do both how’s that I do the same thing

I’m like a cowboy I got two on the cider

holster boom boom boom and that way I

have 24/7 one and 70 to 200 in other

words or if I’m shooting prime I’m

shooting at 35 and an 85 so I have a

Alex one it’s only Alex one step that at

one time I use that as a better camera

but kid you not I kid you not duck that

camera is only have a 35 f/2 lens on it

but and one waiting I use that def

camera I I think that is the best

picture I ever took for every wedding

cuz it limited me with only one less and

be more creative and more artistic

in this case so Wow if I have my other

two camera has a 24-17 somebody when

you’re there

oh I get is typical pictures my typical

cover with pictures but with a 35 f2 on

fixed lens small tiny camera I could

move around the whole show and just you

doing creative things so at some point

that I can actually carry that camera

with me rather than just put in a car so

I have that’s why that free camera with

me remember yeah that was it yep and I

got last picture from the 2470 that time

for Sara Lee only used for like group

pictures or if you know the mom the

bride wanted sympathy with auntie’s and

I use that hello on camera flash on it

but all the artistic picture is from not

the 2470 or the 70-200 never anyway that
